New blurb for Everyday Chica, Music and More
One of my very favorite poets, Marjorie Agosín, wrote a blurb for my spoken CD’s Amazon page; it will be uploaded soon but here it is in the original Spanish and translated with the help of another dear friend Alma Negy.
Cecilia Rodríguez Milanés has created poetry that sings, a song with magic and poetry. This CD awakens our senses, it is inspiring, and reveals one of the most creative voices of current Latina poetry. Listening to this poetry makes one want to dance, but more than that, to live.
Marjorie Agosín is author of more than forty books including several collections of poetry (I just taught Dear Anne Frank: Poems and have often used At The Threshold of Memory), memoirs (I love her series A Cross and A Star, Always From Somewhere Else, An Alphabet of my Hands), edited collections, and works of literary and cultural criticism. She is an endowed professor at Wellesley University.
